Excellent details. I would have called it "have fun or a nervous break-down."

Thank you for the comments.

Neil-yes the left side cropping was actualy at the time of the picture was shot. I didn't pay attention to that left edge. So I decided to crop it to the right on the 3rd Jeep to give better balance.

Gayle & Neil- Last year we met a member of an Austrailian Off road club. He was a hoot. He didn't get a chance to go out on a run with us but we did share some stories. I guess you Aussies call the Cherokee a "shopping trolley." We very much like that name for our club members in Cherokees. ;-) And yes, we are a different sort. We like moving very slow.

ssw-Yes my husband and I made it back just before they shut the main hwy back to SD from the desert. I several pics on my site. One pic was taken just across the street from my sis-in-law's house. Fortunately, it did not burn down. The fires have been devistating.

BTW- I should explain the Just Empty Every Pocket title. If you've ever wondered where the name JEEP came from I'm going to explain it here. Every time you go out on a trail, you find another modification you want to do on your vehicle, which costs many $$$. J.E.E.P.

You have done really well here. Nice to see the progression of the Jeeps, to see where they have come from, and the desolation of the place. Cropped a bit too tightly on the left. I have done lots of four wheel driving (in Japenese 4WDs) in the mountains to the north of where Gayle lives - we tend to go around rocks - rather than over them!!! Jeep drivers must be a bit different.

That's a pretty amazing angle that wheel is on! I've never been in a Jeep, can't say it looks like a comfortable ride. Excellent shot of what a Jeep is capable of. Here in Australia, we see them hauling kids and shopping, not doing the rough stuff they were meant for.

Yikes. Hope you made it back before the fires started.
