Depression - Leaves to Rake *

Medina, Minnesota

Many of you may not identify with this, but the above is what I saw after coming home from two weeks in Asia. Not only had I missed the highlights of the fall colors, but my yard was filled with leaves waiting to be raked.

Canon EOS D60
PS: levels, curves & unsharpen mask full exif

Jim, I wondered if that might be the case. I really love the low angle and the way the leaves sweep across the image and feared that might be spoiled too if you play with it too much. I like it how it is ! Paul D.

Paul,
Thanks for the comments. The yard slopes upward right to left. I actually played a little with tilting the horizon, but it tended to not look right to me - the far trees then tilted too much, and the flat area on the right then wasn't. I also took some "tighter" crops, but didn't get the effect I was looking for.

Jim, love the colours and textures and composition. My only suggestion would be to alter the image to counter the slanting horion. Not sure why but it is a bit distracting and wonder how it would look with a straight horizon? Just an idea. Lovely pic though, Paul.

You have a lot of work ahead of you. Nice colours, something we don't see much of in our part of the world (especially in Spring) Would like to see more of the trees, but you were highlighting the leaves, which you have done well
