In 1975, John McLaughlin (famous jazz guitarist) teamed with Zakir Hussain, L. Shankar and Vikku Vinayakram to form SHAKTI - one of the first true fusion of Western and Indian music. Nearly three decades later, that special collaboration comes together again, reuniting John McLaughlin with tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain, along with newcomers virtuoso U. Shrinivas (who was already famous throughout southern India by the time he was 15) and V. Selvaganesh (son of Vikku Vinayakram) one of the most brilliant of the new generation of kanjira (tambourine) players to form 'Remember SHAKTI'
