I did a little work on this, and uploaded a new image. I hope this looks better, and again, thanks for the suggestions and comments. My monitor didn't show the color difference until this morning!

thanks for the comments. iso -- yes, I didn't see the color change till now. I've attempted to correct it, but not sure how to re-post without deleting the comments. Paul, the cat was sitting in the sun, so I didn't have to use flash. The light was coming in the window behind him.

Hi Peggy. I don't to annoy you here, but on my monitor I can see a large black chunk of background that doesn't quite tally with the rest of it. It looks like you've extended the background on an original cropped picture? The colour doesn't quite match. When working with dark backgrounds it's often useful to crank the brightness up on a monitor to see if you can pick up the subtle nuances in the shadow areas. It's easier to get a good match then. The cat however is superb. (Why are cats so popular is this challenge?)

Really really nice cat portrait. How did you do this on s50 - flash ? Got a black background? Looks great lighting-wise. Paul Donovan.
