fits this challenge well, nice use of lighting to get an unusual effect (although I usually like to see faces well lit)

I think this, best of all the entries, is off center for a reason. If she were in the middle, the shot wouldn't make sense. - Max

I like the anticipation that's expressed with this one. It's also fun to seel the old rule broken about light needing to come from behind the shooter. With backlighting the shot is somehow more interesting.

There's something about this picture I really like - it looks like it is maybe an old picture from a film about a war, with a child who'd just returned back home after being sent away to safety! How do you turn a family snap into an 'arty' image that looks so nice?!?! Paul.

And you understand the story even better if you've just looked at the picture before this. Composition is great for this challenge.

That looks like a long jump and this young lady is getting ready to make it. This picture tells a story, a short story but one none the less.
