moi

I'd had my fair share of red wine the night I took this (hence the darkness of the lips) and when I looked at it later, it seemed kind of boring. So I tilted the shot, cropped it, and added noise to sort of convery how my mind was feeling at that very moment. Opinions? Comments? Criticisms?

Gwen Stefani! You totally look like her here. I still don't like the added noise, but it's a great shot.

Hah! That's funny, Gordon. Someone else told me I look like a moviestar. Gee, I should always walk around with only half my face showing. I might get rich and famous then! ;)

Still think you look like Courtney Love in this ...

It's a little bit disappointing to know that the shot was tilted after the fact. I had imagined it as being a lucky result of having the camera held out in front of you at a not so straight angle, which seems a likely effect of drinking lots of red wine :-) But knowing now that you meant to do it, shows that you really accomplished your goal of conveying the moment. Not luck, but skill! The tilt gives it a bit of movement, as if she (you) aren't really sitting still, but swaying back and forth. And the shinyness of the lips emphasizes the red wine theme. It was a good decision to leave the right eye out, I think. I tried to imagine it with, and I think the picture would have been pulled too far to the right. Overall, I think it works really well.

I think though, if it were me, I'd probably put something about the red wine in the title. Calling it "moi" might suggest that you are always in this sort of moment :-) But perhaps I'm trying overdo things and make it too obvious.
