When I see this picture I start hearing the theme to the movie 2001 in my head. It seems somehow very Kubrikesque.

great image, I have to disagree about the shadow on the left eye,
I actually like it , quite sinister and theatrical.

Thanks for the comments - I think I was aiming for a slightly more malevolent look with this one - I actually dodged out the shirt I was wearing to get that disemboded head look. The eye shadow is a bit too heavy though.

Good to hear that some people like the first one more than the second, and other people have the entirely opposite opinion :) Depth of field is always a challenge with these, but getting the eye sharp seems to be the key. Think I might have over done the burning of the highlights in the hair (or I have I got my dodging and burning the wrong way around...?)

I like the highlights in your hair.

I don't really care for the shadow on the left of your eye. It looks kind of "evil" - I'm not sure if you were going for that or not :-) Also, because you're wearing a dark shirt (?) it looks like your neck is floating and chopped off from a body.

I like it as a companion to the other piece...Kind of like the soft, tender side of Gordon and the evil, crazy side of Gordon. Is that what you were trying to achieve?

Gordon,

I like this image much better than #I. The lighting is much better than the cropping in my opinion. (After corresponding with you, it is nice to know what you look like.} Bill Prosser
