...although I collect it, not produce it. I watched this piece being created at Ryukyu Glass in Itoman City, Okinawa. I was comletely amazed at the finished work of art and would have liked to have bought it see here but it wasn't for sale (and probably would have been too expensive, anyway).
Follow-up note: I went back to the glassworks last weekend and talked to the artist, Sueyoshi-san. My husband took a picture of us with Sueyoshi-san holding a large copy of this image, but I accidently trashed it while downloading pictures. The plate cost $1,500, BTW, and had been sold the previous week (not that I could have bought it anyway :-)).
