Thanks Rod. You've given me something to ponder but nice to know the shot's growing on you.

This is more growing on me now as when I first saw it I imagined how it would have looked with the whole picy being OOF yellow with just that small petal tip coming out into the focus from a yellow background. I don't think what I imagined would have looked as manly as this but.

Appreciate the comments :)

I see we have mixed thoughts about the dark part of the center. Nice to know what's on everyone's mind. All three pics where shot under evenly grey cast skies. Not a speck of sun shining through. Of the three I've posted I imagined this one being the most on topic shot, since the light was evenly spread out on the whole bud, as in the 3rd shot also, and no other light sources where used. So it's interesting to see the results.

Very nice abstract, Techo. No sharp shadows...looks like flat light to me.

Where was this for the OOF challenge earlier in the year? Just a tiny piece of sharpness goes a long way here and it looks great. It's hard to see flatness though. -Doug

Nice abstract. And I think I'm kind of enjoying the off-centered-ness. This is really different - I like it. Penny Street

That little in focus bit looks great coming out of the DOF, well done. It's slightly diminished by the strong darker center of the flower so I was wondering if the camera were more to the left placing the in focus petal more into the dark area whether it would then assume center stage for itself.
