Interesting take on the subject. I have this lens too and you are right that you are likely a little too close for it's focusing comfort. I wouldn't say that it's overly soft though. Nicely done and yes it does, or should, give others ideas. -Doug

Keep it here for a while. It is mighty pretty and could be a contender. I sure like it. With the G9 you can't get this shallow a DOF but it is inspiring ideas. -John

Actually, I think it was too close for my focusing, but I submitted it anyway because I liked its over look and thought it might give people ideas for possible subjects. I'll probably send it off to Pending at some point.

Flat lighting works well with macros to avoid bright spots and emphasize what is in focus against some lovely bokeh. Nicely done. -tv
