Splendid capture. The point of focus and DOF work really well. Sure the shot could use just a bit of a crop, but I wouldn't say too much as to make the image a square. It'd feel too cramped. Just some off the right side, perhaps the midpoint between where his kneck begins and the edge of the shot, and then a bit off the bottom to keep the similar aspect ratio.

That natural smile of the girl along with the hint of gazing into each others eyes really sets the mood. In my opinion the gents face isn't necessary for the scene. -Doug

This has a nice, relaxed sense of happiness. I love the smile. Nice capture. Penny Street

Thanks everyone - yes, this one of many photos taken at Colyn's first homecoming last evening. When I posted I knew it needed a crop, but had some other things on my agenda today that needed attention. I'll do that and repost. jano

Rod
If I crop off just at the back of his neck it seems to work better for me.

I kind of agree with Mary Anne but I do like the focus on the corsage with just enough of the faces remaining to provide some context. -tv

I love the expression on the girl's face, Jano, but I wish you had included more of the young man's face. I have to wonder if he was looking at her with the same affection. I do like the shot, but I'm bothered by that glaringly white shirt sleeve in the foreground. I'd suggest cropping of part of the right side and maybe toning down the white a bit, but maybe just a crop would eliminate enough of it.
