I would also add that flat light is where the light metering is more accurate (because it all fits within the DR of the sensor). His camo is really working here.

Thanks Penny:-) Normally in overcast light we get better colour saturation if I didn't want a sky in the picy then I prefer overcast light for colour picys & the dynamic range in the overcast scene suits our sensors DR range better too.

Of course, flat light doesn't mean that an image can't have good contrast. But this is probably better discussed in the main thread, as you suggested.

Thanks Mary Anne:-) I had trouble finding picys with flat light as even on overcast ones there were good highlights. I will ask about it in the main fred.

Good start to the challenge, Rod, with nicely saturated greens in the background. This guy doesn't look too happy about being interrupted in the middle of his meal.
