Thanks Tommy:-) Me picys always seem to look better after you comment on them:-)

Well I can't poopoo this one either. The difference between clichee and creative content is the rendering of the clouds. They seem to smolder with the end of the world calamity closing in. Oh.. then I noticed the title. Well, as they say on the US Atlantic coast, "Red skies in the morning, take warning", or something like that. -tv

Thanks Debi Webi:-)

This is a wonderful pic - look at that light and the clouds hovering on top - absolutely menacing - Debi

It's just that when I make the PP decisions & do them myself I get a closer affinity to the picy. Clicking on a filter makes the picy more the work of the filter designer I think. Mind you there are those that really know their way around Photoshop & do everything themselves & their picys look like a filter has been used, so I don't know what the answer is really. The filter driven picys seem to have a wow factor but a tiresome one for me to look at.

I like the one in pending better. I think it really defines the clouds. But then again I have nothing against pixel pushing, so.... jano

Thanks Penny & YB:-) Yes the one in Pending has a wow factor from the filter but even Mereana said it looked "worked on" Nice to see you out & about commenting YB:-) I was up at 3am for no reason, it was cold outside & had no thoughts about going out but around 5am I started to get thoughts of a sunrise picy for Debi. It wasn't so cold as I thought & got down the point about 6am.

I like this one way better than the one in pending.... Gorgeous clouds and color - wonderful composition!

Got up at 5am to get a Morning Glow shot only to find some dam Aussie had beaten me to it. But as long as it doesn't rain we'll beat your lot today.

By the way - reluctantly - I have to say nice shot. What time did you get up to take it?

Thanks Suey & Techo:-) The 10-22 would be great for landscapes Techo but so far since having it I haven't done many landscapes.I would imagine the preference would go to the 10-22 just because it goes wider but if the light is dodgy & because I don't like taking out a tripod the 17-55 with IS would get the nod. The 17-55 is my main use lens.

Very, very nice !
ctfchallenge19-Jul-2009 00:39
Looking at these pics, looks like getting up early was definitely worth it :)
Hope youre sniffles are gone by now.

I noticed you use the 17-55 and 10-22 lenses. Do you use the 10-22 more often for landscapes?

ctfchallenge18-Jul-2009 23:21
Thanks Jano:-) I changed it as the first one I was messing with the Topaz adjust filter & uploaded it by mistake. Here's the one I did all by meself:-)
