When using the USM tool in PS settings of 20 for amount, 60 for radius, and 4 for threshold yield a "de-fog" effect. I've never used a polarized lens. -Doug

I know what unsharp mask is. But I'm not sure what you mean, Doug - does a CPL filter create the same effect? Penny Street

The filter has a 20/60/4 unsharpen mask effect. -Doug

thanks Debi, I can only guess that a CPL must be a filter.

Great looking shot with the raindrops on the nice green leaves. I like the dark stone background which contrasts so well with the ivy. CJ

That explains it then, the polarising filter. I was thinking these picys had a certain look to them which works really well too. Everything seems to have a nice deep colour without being oversaturated. I like the composition here it works very well.

Thanks. I was surprised myself, Sueanne, but It was kind of a dark day. I used a polarizing filter that I bought awhile ago but haven't had the occasion for. I started thinking about my popcorn shots that I did awhile back at f22 and remember that the exposures were almost a second so I thought this might work out. Penny Street

Very nice, I'm learning that 1 sec doesn't have to be dark night shots.
