I think the boy is exploring the water movement :) I like how the crowd is/are forming a half circle, with the other half (closer to us) is empty.

I don't think the boy is prominent enough to carry this picy, it all just seems too busy without a more definite vision through the viewfinder. This is a common problem of wide angle picys I think.

I like the way the boy stands out from the crowd with distinctive posture and attitude. Centering enhances the impression. -tv
