cool and yeah, I'd love to see the boat. Penny Street

Thanks Penny & Brent:-) I had to really strain to see the dust spot but once I found it I could pick it up........I think:-) I hit the general area with the healing thingy so I hope I got it. Penny the green is the outside wall to the house on the footpath. Here's a view where I tried to get two triangles. The right triangle runs parallel to the footpath & the left one runs up to the house. Under this edifice is their outside entertaining area so it is wot we call down here a pergola. This thing overshadows the house, I wish I'd got a picy of the whole house so you could see. It's on a canal estate so I wonder how big their boat would be:-)

Very nicely done Rod. Everything seems well in control to me and that green triangle works great for the topic. You might want to take out that subtle but large dust spot in the brighter part of the sky on the right.

good job, Rod. Thanks for sharing. What is the green triangle? Penny Street

Thanks Penny:-)
This has a lot more contrast added to try & give it a bit of life & maybe went too hot, I also burnt in the shadows.
Here's the picy looking more how it was.

How close is this to the real thing?
1. maybe it's just the contrast with the shadows that makes the color look so hot.
2. and maybe it's just so modern that it (almost) looks askew.
I really like this shot. Funny how so many of the little pieces of triangles add up. And then there's the one big one that's kind of pointing down, away from the heavens (so to speak), that's so important.

Thanks Tommy:-) Doug's going really well a. I think he sends his kids out in front to scout for triangle picys, not fair isit:-)

Modern architecure seems to be the obvious subject for this topic which is becoming the most difficult in memory for me (but not for Doug). So this works well for its hard-edged shapes and dramatic tonal contrasts and strong interactions with the frame. In fact this is one of the most successful I have seen in drawing the frame in as a critical compositional element. -tv
