I was drawn to that woman as well Tommy, mainly because it looked like she had no clothes on:-)

I've seen this display of flowers (and tourists) and quickly passed it by without any idea of how to resolve its busy activity and showy atmosphere. But I think Rod describes the result well. In addition to his observations, to me this has an an art history context: it works as a satire on late Renaissance or Baroque scenes with foliage and gods and goddesses and such. The woman near the upper edge just left of center looks like a rear view of Venus climbing off her shell.. or something like it. The effect of the aggregated flowers is almost like those heavenly clouds the gods live in. -tv

Thanks for the comments. I did this in black and white to make the lillies and the congestion have equal importance as it seemed they occupy the space pretty evenly. I guess I should have titled it The Lillies and The tourists, but I didn't. I'm at work so I can't change it anyway. Penny Street

I think with the "many" topic in mind the background adds a great counterpoint to what would be just a pretty picy of the front flowers. It is chaotic behind but that's why the picy works for me.

I think I'd also prefer a closer crop of just the lilies, Penny, as I find all those people too distracting.

It's a good conversion Penny but what did those flowers look like in color? -Doug

Hi Penny. I would love to see a close crop of the foreground - the lilies look tremendous. But (here i go again with my buts) I think all the people makes the picture too busy. But the lower half - spot on :)

Yes an excellent "many" picy a. The lovely looking front flowers create a great balance with the seeming chaos behind. Excellent framing.

Nicely done Penny, your conversion looks quite good to me.
