Thanks Doug, Tommy, Troy and Yvonne :-) I shaved a little off the file size, thanks Doug. Well I'm maybe not that creative Tommy as it was the "Nightmare" challenge at DPC you mentioned that put this whole idea in my head. I don't usually like to use the same image for multiple challenges and was originally going to do this just for nightmare. Then a couple of days ago I got these binocular loupes for my middle age eyes and it dawned on me they would be good ellipses. So I shot with them on for this challenge and without them and the mask and made a crazy face for the nightmare challenge. Now that I have seen how the binoculars turned out so creepy how could I not use them for nightmare too? So I will likely use this image with some DPC friendly treatment for the nightmare challenge too. My top three titles so far are "The Dentist from Hell", "There will be Blood", or "Is it Safe?" :-) ~Brent

Thanks much all for your comments, glad the reaction seems to be what I intended :-) I scare myself a little too ;-) I don't of course do extractions or injections in my office. But they do in the Dentist's office next door which I have a key to and got permission to use when she wasn't there. This was a tough one to do all alone until I figured out I could use my reflection on my UV filter to get an idea of my position and composition. I picked the scariest things I could think of for each hand and thought the bright lights in the background were kind of scary as well as good for highlighting that needle which otherwise would be lost in the background. I lit the foreground with a 580EX II mounted with a nice big Gary Fong Whaletail Studio diffuser to soften the light. ~Brent
