No she was just shy. Most people here are OK with having their picture taken. For them its a novelty and the fact they can actually see whats being taken helps. Debi

I hope she is not turning on you! :) You do well shooting in public places. I usually get some wierd looks. Again the tilt of the camera or crop is excellent. jano

Thanks Brent and Tommy. Tommy you see more in my pics than I do. It was just shot in a hurry as she did not want her pic taken. Just shy. She liked it when I showed her what I had taken- Debi

Wow! Even better than the young girl, which was well executed but more formal. This is exciting and spontaneous and the centered eye makes it extremely powerful to my eye. (Very well judged crop.) I think the seeming OOF is really motion blur. At 1/50 sec anything moving will be blurred a bit, which actually enhances the spontaneity of such a fleeting image. Sharpness doesn't a perfect image make - remember Frank Capra's Spanish civil war images. Debi I'm guessing you are spending much more time working your art recently. Isn't it so satisfying when the effort pays off so well. -tv

Yes this is still all about the dot in color. Just a little bit of a shame about the motion blur though.

Its prob OOF a bit- she was moving away as she was shy and I just clicked it - Debi

I can see why you liked the B&W Debi as the background colors are a little distracting. You could select the BG and maybe just desaturate it a little. This looks softer than the B&W - is that because the image is smaller or does it just need more USM, or is the focus off a little? CJ

For those who missed it, this is what was here earlier - Debi ( I still think it was better)

Its funny, this one got a lot of rave reviews in FB & flickr but no comments on the girl's picture at those sites at all - Debi

Unless it's obvious it's hard to tell if this is motion blur or slightly missed focus.
Now you've had your fun don't post any more:-)

Dont grumble so much Rod - I need to have some fun too. Yes the "sindur" would have been highly visible in colour too, but I had fun selecting only the right parts of the forehead without getting a visible line of demarcation. I will change it to colour later. - Debi

BTW is there a bit of motion blur here?
ctfchallenge13-Apr-2009 01:55
I concur. That red would have gotten the attention without the treatment. -Doug

Bugger me this is the fourth worst picy I've ever seen, how could you do a partial desat in public!!! Mind you I posted a partial desat a few years ago & it still haunts me to this day. Surely if you had this in colour the red dot could still attract our eye for this topic a but.
Anyhow after your first two great picys what does this one matter. I wonder if Aamm will like this:-)
