The contrast between the cardboard and the flowers really gives this some punch. Good eye. jano

I love the shots you capture, this one included. Yvonne

Thank you Brent- everyone keeps telling me that DPP is better for canon than ACR. But I just like to use ACR somehow. As it is my PP skills are not that great and I do most of the work in PS - Debi

Color came out really nice on this one Debi. Glad you are enjoying shooting RAW these days. I saw a lecture by the head Canon Rep for the Western USA the other day (he happens to live near me). He said he uses Lightroom for most of his images (same tech as ACR) but uses DPP once in a while to get the very best overall quality. He said if he took an image of five people with varied complexions he would go Adobe all the way as it would more likely get all the tones right. I was a little surprised to here that as I have come to like Adobe best for all the extra controls rather than the color- but then I seldom photograph people.

glad you like it - Debi

Lovely flowers and the cardboard separators really make this image. A bit more crop of the top as Kiki suggested would look good, but nice as is too. CJ

Debi, have a look at the main thread.

aam I have started using RAW since March & I am using ACR. Tried DPP for a while but somehow did not work for me. I am very impressed with RAW format. The details are so much better. Get better shots even in low light. Should have used it from day 1. - Debi

Hey! I see that you are starting to shoot in Raw. Which program do you use for the conversion (still ACR?), and how do you like dealing with Raw in general...what are your 1st impression(s) of the format.

Thanks aam = Debi

This is beautiful, Debi.

Also there was a flower in the 3rd square which was getting cut-off - Debi

Thanks Rod, Penny, Doug & Kiki. I did take a bit off the top. But retained the line as I wanted the pattern visible. Had taken a few similar shots, but the light was bad and I was getting very slow shutter speeds even at ISO 800. - Debi

Sure, crop the top off. Even as is it a great entry to the challenge. Well done Debi. -Doug

I think Kiki is right about the crop - I love all the neatly wound up (but each slightly different) red flowers.

Wonderful roses, colors, patterns.. and the POV couldn't be better. The cardboard indeed.. very special picture. Tried cropping off the top? I think I'd like the cardboard "skeleton" to be more similar at top and bottom.

The corrugated cardboard threading around the flower thingys looks really good. I think this would work well too with a wider view if it were possable as I like to see more of this pattern in the frame. The picy works great as is but. Well done Debi.
