Good composition. And that's the friendliest looking fire-hydrant pic I've ever seen :) Beautiful light and very harmonic colors. The the tall OOF horizon works like charm.

Thanks Tommy and Carole. The fire hydrant is for the buildings behind the camera view. -Doug

Nice lighting and color, and definitely on topic. I like the open field in the background - makes me wonder why they put a hydrant away from the houses or if there are houses close by to protect. I know, I wonder about strange things! :-) CJ

Very well executed straight-on centered comp elevating a mundane object. My eyes appreciate the balanced periferal context. -tv

And by the way, if I know I'm going to be doing more editing after LR I do not convert to JPEG yet and have no problem with EXIF. It's the JPEG's that I decide to mess with after the fact. -Doug
ctfchallenge12-Apr-2009 02:21
I went back and traced my steps and figured out when I'm losing the EXIF but I still don't know why. After my adjustments in LR, and assuming I'm finished, here is how I save: File>Export>Burn Full-Sized JPEG. All of the EXIF in this file is retained until... If I open this JPEG in PS then "Save As" most EXIF is gone. If I open a file that hasn't been through LR in PS and "Save As" all EXIF remains. ??? -Doug

You should never lose the exif from LR, Doug. ummmm How do you export? I usually bring all images into LR, and then to PS... and do a "save as" after downsizing, etc. jano

Thanks for the comments. Occasionally I screw up in my saving procedure and loose the EXIF, especially when I venture in LR. -Doug

Nice shadows and light for what I think would be difficult to shoot. Well done. jano

they must have used the extra paint from the old car.
Nice background (where's the exif?)
