Nice contrast and good dof. I would have liked this one photographed from a frontal point of view for the purpose of creating a centered perspective but the profile view brings out the details nicely.

actually it was a reply to Rod.s comment - though this too is a repeat - Debi

The yellow of the flower is set off so nicely against the black background. However, I'm wondering if the stem makes it off-center. Subjects that are not symmetrical in either direction are a confusing issue for this topic, I think.

Beautiful execution Carole. Natural and nice to look at. On topic too I think. -tv

Thanks Penny and Debi.
Me neither Debi, but almost none of my picys have centered subjects! :-D CJ

Like this one too but if there are good new pics I generally dont vote for repeats- Debi

the square crop works for me, and probably for this challenge we'll see more than a handful of them (my guess).. Nicely done, Carole! Penny Street

Ahhhhhhhh thanks Rod, but I'm not shocked by the votes, lots of different tastes in picys around here and a very small voting pool. This one I think I will print up as a square - I like it this way. :-) CJ

This is really nice with superb lighting. This square crop works for this topic but I thing for normal flower picys the full frame makes em more graceful. I hope this does better than your white geese bird which shocked me how little votes it got................Mind you I am easily shocked:-)
