I'm guessing that your Nevada City has a higher population. Thanks for commenting. -Doug

Lots of great textures here Doug. I'm going to Nevada City Thurs, but it's in CA! I didn't know there was one in CO too, maybe there's other ones too. CJ

Thanks for the comments. Yes that is snow you see Sue Anne. Normally at this time of year there would still be several feet on the ground up there. -Doug

History is being shown here. Good job, Doug.

This is very nice Doug being closer in to the machinery works better I think. The woods came out really well. Goodun mate.

I like this one the best. Seems like there is snow in the background.
Looks like a fun place to scout.

There are several ghost towns remaining in Colorado, towns that only existed to support the mines. So naturally when the mining ended, so did the town. Much of the equipment was left behind but most of the mines were capped off for safety. This is just some of the remains but I have no idea what it was used for. I really enjoy exploring these old towns, especially the ones that have not been capped off yet and/or still have standing buildings. Nevada City is easily accessible even without a 4x4 vehicle and isn't very old. Some of the buildings still have antique artifacts in them that nobody messes with. Obviously they are boarded up but it wouldn't be to hard to break a window and get in. There are also old graves up there. -Doug

Very nicely done picture. I visited here once but it was in August. It was so hot that I think even the ghosts had gone elsewhere. Penny Street
