These shots were taken "blindly,"
meaning without looking at the viewfinder,
holding the camera at chest level or lower,
and just hoping the camera was pointed well.
I wanted as candid a shot as possible.
Thanks to all for the comments. She was on a cell phone, and at the moment is waiting at an intersection for the light to change. That may explain her less than enthusiastic expression. ;-)
This captures a kind of story in the details of the material, wrinkles, and design of the jacket as opposed to the normal attention to the face of this randomly captured passerby. You're on to something here that is unplanned and spontaneous, which is inconsistent with cropping. I would like to see the uncropped version instead to retain the original unmanipulated quality and context. -tv
