CJ, thank you for your comments. You are right the short one and leaning ones add to the effect. I noticed that too when I was reviewing the pictures on the PC.

Great texture and I like the perspective too. Looks like a crowd of little white aliens. My eye is drawn to "Shorty" and then the "leaners" on the left. Cute! CJ

aam, rod and tv, thank you for your commends. tv, I've thought of the angled lighting idea but unfortunately don't have the equipment for that yet.

Wow you're getting a lot of comments. I guess you have the benefit of being a newbie to the challenge. I'm jealous.. no one pays any attention to me any more.. Tough subject here but not badly rendered. Needs some angled lighting I think. -tv

Even bigger than A3, mate. I tell you, those guys are freaks not photographers. It drives me nuts when some people go over-board over something that people may or may not even see.

OK, I vented enough for today :) Good day/night :)

Yes I like the look of this better & it's not too white for me. The faults people find with lenses & sensors are really only seen at 100% crops or maybe very large prints so for most people who print around A4 or A3 or view on the monitor most any camera, lens or F stop will work just fine.

And at f22 no less. Where are the Diffraction Police* to see this.

* Diffraction Police are those people who think one shouldn't go below f11 on a crop camera (or f16 on FF) otherwise diffraction will kick in. As I mentioned under one of Penny's pics (the M&M one) this is bull, and you guys proved it. Bravo.

Indeed. However much you crop, the quality of the lens is so good it doesn't show. I think this picture is around 85% of the original image.
aam1234 07-Jan-2009 11:34
Not only it looks better but now it's more "close-up".
Guest 07-Jan-2009 05:40
Thank you all for your comments. I tried cropping the picture a bit and I must admit it looks better. I am not sure if its too white now though...

Nice job of retaining detail within the sometimes difficult white. -Doug

crop or rotate - you could watch them swirl. Penny Street

Thank you all for your comments and valuable feedback. Will try cropping it a bit later today to see how it looks.

Very well exposed to keep the whites really white looking, I agree wiv Debi about the top right being a very slight distraction. nicely done mate.
ctfchallenge06-Jan-2009 07:07
very nice except for the top right ( or is it left) - Debi

A crowd of egg whites speaking affirmatively. Nice texture and a wonderful abstract of ideas come to mind.
