If you get around to it, Sharon, no big deal. I just remember some old Singer logos and went to the singer.com site to get a more complete picture. Turned out they do a lousy job of presenting their company history! What a gang.. only one or two older logos there. None matched this.

Thanks, aam, Kiki and Lydia! Kiki, I am not sure if I took a close-up shot of the Singer sign and I am not where my images from that trip are at the moment. When I get home I will look and see if there is one. Or, I can enlarge this image a bit so that you can see the detail better. I'll let you know. When I went back to do this in color I darkened the sign as I had made it too contrasty in the b&w version. I don't honestly know what the number on the corner is but a house number is a good guess. ~Sharon

Cool, Sharon ! ~ Lydia

I like this version more :) Also, the old "Singer" logo stands out better here. Got brighter in the B&W and lost "depth". (If you have a closeup of it I'd like to see it.)
Is that a house number on the corner??

Really nice, Sharon.

Thanks, Mary Anne and Keith! Here is the color version, Mary Anne. I have put the b&w one in Pending for comparison, here:http://upload.pbase.com/image/106421809. I did the b&w version because I thought the greenery was distracting in the color version. What do you think? ~Sharon

On the other hand, there are such interesting textures in the old concrete and weathered wood that I have to think that there might be intriguing colors as well--thus adding more visual information to the image. Could we see a color version, Sharon?

Very nice. I like the way you have given this a sense of form without a great deal of visual information. ~keithinmelbourne
