Damn JV.... you took the words out of my mouth (MC Escher) :-)
I'm finding myself staring at this trying to figure out which elements are most obviously concrete and which are wood. That's part of the MC mystery of this. Thanks for sharing this. Markjay

At first glance, this is very M.C. Escher-ish.

Great Job!

Thanks for the comments - the shot is of the Royal National Theatre, on the River Thames Southbank.
The building came in for a great deal of criticism when it first opened. I love it for its functionality - what's the point of having a great looking building if it doesn't meet functional requirements.

You're on a roll. Impressive structure and I too get an association to music here. Not anything particular, perhaps chirch music. The wooden loooking girders somehow remind me of organ pipes.

Very nicely done YB, just wondering if some of those lines should be leveled horizontally?

Well framed aggregation of monolithic forms and repetitions. Makes me think of a Bruckner symphony. -tv

Lovely shot YB, especially the relationships between warm and cold light interacting with the angles. Well conceived and appropriate ~ keithinmelbourne

I guess if something must be concrete it might as well be interesting. Nicely seen ~dtallakson

... but this doesn't look too ugly and cold - I guess it's the color.

You've made what many think of as ugly concrete very artistic looking - great angles and lighting! :-) CJ

Good call by your government. Concrete is truly ugly and cold.
Rod 21-Nov-2008 19:52
The angles are an assault on the senses a, well done.

These might be the only three for this Challenge. The concrete buildings built in the 60s, 70s in London have, or are being knocked down because they were so ugly.
