Beautiful opposites Penny! The colors are lovely and I'm surprised there's still so many leaves on the trees there. Did you really take this at 5am - way too early for me! :-D CJ

thanks Sharon!

I really like this, Penny! The gradations and tones from trees through suburbs to full blown city are just great. Well done! ~Sharon

this is lower Manhattan - mostly the financial district and the northern part is probably Houston Street in the village. So it doesn't show the Empire State Building, which is up further at 33rd - 34th Street. Thanks for the comment!

Love the warm tones and layers of the shot. This is a picy of down town Manhattan? as I don't see the empire state building peeking through.

Ordinary, never. But dangerous maybe. All that concrete could come alive.

Even in a recession I don't think NY could ever be ordinary a. Concrete jungle is wot we call any large city Penny, or we called them the big smoke. Anyhow this picy is breathtaking:-)

This is like the glossy skyline rising from the earthiness of these suburbs.. well at least the trees are earthy. -tv

thanks alot for the comments!
Yea, NY gets kind of ordinary after awhile too....especially when the economy is down. But that's why I tried this NEW view!
Funny, I have never felt like it's a concrete jungle. Penny Street

This is quite a contrast with all those trees surrounding the concrete jungle.

When I look at the photo, the word ordinary comes to mind. Not the the image is ordinary, rather NY Skyline looks 'ordinary' - guess this is a reflection of my age. When I was young there were no skyscrapers in the UK, as a result NY looked so exciting. Over the last thirty years the London skyline has changed so much that plain tall buildings look dull and ordinary. The first day of each month I take a panoramic view of London, and play spot the difference to the previous images.
