Thanks, CJ.

Good one Lonnit! The composition and bright colors are great and work well for the topic. CJ

It happened to work for both challenges. I needed the garish to qualify there. Boosting the color like this also made it more fitting to this challenge, making the color an obvious focal point of the image, which allows the viewer to get the concept of opposite colors. Without this processing the opposite colors wouldn't have been so noticeable, and certainly not a main subject. Had I not processed it for the other challenge, I wouldn't even have thought to enter it here. :) ~ Lonnit

Lonnit, garish is the CSLR competition, this one is only opposites. Garish works well with this image, however, so you may want to keep it for this challenge too! Thanks for working on the compression, I hope you can make it work! ~Sharon

A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Garish she wanted, garish she got. This is what the chick ordered. Complain to the boss! LOL! ~ Lonnit

The left tilt is very cool, keep it. However, that microwaved look is not exactly...nice.
ctfchallenge11-Nov-2008 21:07
Aam! Son of a b*tch! You're right about the left tilt! I thought I overcame that years ago!!! Guess I press the shutter too hard in my exuberance! No, you wouldn't have cropped the grass because I did and I didn't like the look of it. You would have agreed with me. LOL! As for the processing, I wouldn't have ever gone so garish with the colors. I detest garish colors. I only pushed it for the challenge. Not my taste at all. I'm writing this one off as a "fun" shot. Not serious at all. Didn't even put it on my Flickr site. :) Thanks, buddy. :)

Rod, if you look very closely in person, this guy has a fading strawberry birthmark on his forehead. I had it installed just for you, years ago. I thought by now you could tell 'em apart! LOL!

I'm still working on recompressing! I'll keep at it. :)

Sharon - thanks. It was fairly mundane and I do think it's somewhat interesting now too, so I'm glad you think so. ~ Lonnit

Or maybe not (cropping the foreground). However, I would definitely get rid of this "chemical" look.
aam1234 11-Nov-2008 17:48
Ouch, too processed. Otherwise, excellent composition. Has "classic" written all over it (including tilting to the left).

If it were my pic I would crop the grass in the foreground. But that's just me.
Rod 11-Nov-2008 06:29
I'm on a hiding to nothing wiv identical twins a. Why don't you get a tattoo on one of the twins foreheads, I would be prepared to argue then:-)
ctfchallenge11-Nov-2008 01:10
Lonnit, even though you have recompressed this it is still too big, it is 176225 bytes or 176KB instead of the 153600 bytes or 150KB or less it should be. Do you think you can reduce it even more? Thanks! ~Sharon
ctfchallenge11-Nov-2008 00:54
I like how our eye is drawn directly to his red jacket and then we can look around the image. You have taken a mundane situation and managed to make it very interesting. ~Sharon
ctfchallenge10-Nov-2008 20:26
You're just wrong all over the place today, Rod! LOL! Nope, this isn't him, it's the other one. His jacket IS red! The other's is orange. I have a pic of them together if you need the proof. :) ~ Lonnit
Rod 10-Nov-2008 06:34
Amazing how his orange jacket went red a:-)
