Great lack of color, almost depressing if that weren't the topic. The girl adds just enough to make it not look like the end of the world. (haha) I like the peaceful simlplicity.

Thanks, CJ. That's not an oil rig, it's a guide for ships.

Well done aam! I like the way the oil rig in the distance seems to balance out the little girl. Nice composition and certainly minimal color! :-) CJ

Oh, it's Kurt. Sorry about that.

Thanks angioman (Kirk?) and Brent, appreciate your comment. Brent, there is a harbor on the left so these things are to sort of guide the ships to the harbor. Cheers, mates.

Very nicely done Aam, is that some sort of oil rig on the right. I'd love to know what body of water we are looking out at so I can Google map it and check out the satellite image- I do this quite a bit with images when people describe a location. Just a curious bugger I guess I am.

You really create a sense of space with this shot - alone, isolated, distant. Powerful image indeed! - angioman

Not much processing, just raw conversion. This is how it looked in person. Btw, no crop either.
ctfchallenge25-Oct-2008 01:15
hazy must work well... how much processing did you give to this? (I'm guessing not much). It's really nice (perspective, composition, etc.) Penny Street

All credit goes to you Aamm, you saw it & you created the picy.
aam1234 24-Oct-2008 22:21
Cheers, mate. Have to give most of the credit to the humidity today. It was so humid that it was very hazy.
Rod 24-Oct-2008 22:01
This works a treat for me & I luv the way the land tapers to nothing on the horizon. Just a hint of pink in the clouds & the girls placement is just right for a subtle tension. Nicely done mate.

Now that's challenging - I'll have to think about it.
