Very nice. Your flower pics are always a joy to watch. I like the added "air" or lightness in this version.. they became more "flowery".. easyer to associate with a fragrance.

Thanks Mary Anne, Penny & Kurt:-) This is the less saturated picy Penny, the original is in Pending because Aamm said it was rubbish & over saturated. I normally shoot for the highlights so my picys in camera are probably darker than other posters. This picy taught me to evaluated the subject more when I shoot, even though I do normally try slightly differing exposures when shooting. This is a different frame than the first one & was lighter in camera so it allowed me to darken & burn in without the colour of the flower going too red as did the original. So this is a brighter looking flower than & original & stays truer to the real colour & not as saturated as before.

am I seeing things or did you saturate this a bit? (maybe I am getting senile)
It looks brighter and (still) very pretty

Very nice Rod. I like how the flower is just drinking down the light! I do think this picy needs a frame though:-) - Angioman

I didn't see the original, but I can assure one and all that these colors are pretty true to the flower, as I have a couple in pots in my yard. Mine, however, have finished blooming and will soon be coming inside for the winter, as our temp was below 40F last night. I'm especially impressed with the lovely pale hues of the buds, Rod.

I think what Tommy was saying is that he appreciates your sensibilities. I agree - the reason this is so nice is because of your wonderful ability to balance color and light. The first post (now in pending) is kind of striking but this one has a warm glow of color and just the right light to show off the subject on the diagonal. Plus it's a flower (added bonus).

Thanks Tommy:-) You can't beat a nice flower or sunset picy to get the girls votes:-) Yes we're just starting spring now & the sun is just starting to get some bite. Our winters up here are very mild about 20-22c during the day & 8-10c at night which we think is freezing. We had a low of 15c last night & to day was 29c.

You always know what to fall back on to catch the eye and get votes. I do admire the talent (no kidding) to capture them and excuse myself from trying to compete for the lack of appropriate subjects. I guess this is almost Spring in Oz. -tv

Thanks Doug:-) I did a more manly version but Aamm made me change it:-)

Excellent composition with everything falling to the left in unison. -COAmature

Thanks for that Aamm:-) I've changed to another picy wiv a lighter exposure in camera so when I've done me PP it didn't end up too saturated. I put the saturated one in Pending. You were right as the flower is a reddish orange whereas the original one I posted looked too red a.......Geez I hope the girls like it:-)

Personally, I like the one in pending more. Looks more natural to me. But that's just me. Post the one you like, of course.
Rod 20-Sep-2008 01:56
Thanks Aamm:-) It's not too far off the original but a bit of a boost of contrast & the two sharpens one before & one after resizing changes the the colour a bit. I burnt in the shadow areas & the back flower. I put the original one un sharpened wiv no processing in Pending.

A bit too saturated colors, otherwise... beautiful

Again, you do well with girly pics ;)
