It's good to see another side of life besides our spoiled Americans. ~Lydia

Thanks Tommy & Kiki, these broomsticks are actually the stems of coconut leaves and are great for sweeping. But the one she has is obviously old and is not very useful. I was thinking more about a sepia but then left it as it is - Debi

Here you have captured a side of life that many if us never see and find difficult to comprehend. And if we have seen it, we find it a bit shameful to accept especially when our leaders and their rich supporters are so self-defensive and ultimately indifferent. This is a powerful photojournalistic piece that we can hope might make a difference. Maybe some day. -tv

Nice, and yes - I've seen more efficient brooms, but whatever she's using makes for an interesting picture. I think this would make a great black and white btw.

Mmmm futile comes to my mind. You would think someone would buy her a broom to save her back a.

Debi, I love this one! It reminds me of hope, sweeping in spite of the "odds" Yvonne

Well done Debi, this image is quite powerful. That looks like back straining work this poor woman is doing.

Excellent seeing Debi this has a lot going for it. Well done.

Thanks Carole & Penny. The trouble with a candid is that you cant control what's happening. I saw the direction of her hands and thought diagonals. But then she moved her legs - Debi
ctfchallenge13-Sep-2008 16:04
This is very nice Debi! The broom and arm make a nice diagonal. Seems a bit tight on the bottom - I wish there was a bit of room for all her toes but a lovely image none-the-less! :-) CJ

okay you did it again. Superbly angled to catch the diagonal.
