Great capture Aam! What a wonderful contrast between the captive rose in the water drop and its magnified background image. -tv

Don't pronounce me an ahrtiiiiiiiist yet, it's an imitation of a photo I've seen :) Cheers, mate.

Bleeding L I've bin off watching the Olympics & log on to see this, wot a great picy. I assume the backdrop is the rose. Great work mate & I now pronounce you a grade one ahrtiiiiiiiist:-)

Thanks Sue Anne and Konstantin. Yup, that's a rose.

Very nice rose(?) in the dropper.
aam1234 08-Aug-2008 20:28
Thanks, Doug. I have an eyedropper for that purpose. Thought it wasn't used here :)
Guest 08-Aug-2008 19:15
Well done Aam. I keep a little syringe in my bag to strategically place water drops. -COAmature

Thanks, Mary Anne. I'm afraid if I tell you it will ruin the photo :)
ctfchallenge08-Aug-2008 11:24
Well, Aam, I can see that you're going to keep us in suspense as to what the water drop is suspended from. Very nice shot nevertheless.

Thanks Debi, glad you like it.

This is really good- great idea and nicely taken- Debi

Kurt, don't tell anybody, but there was a bit of cropping there, so that might've contributed to the bokeh. I don't normally crop, it's against my photographic religion :)
ctfchallenge08-Aug-2008 01:07
Excellent work aam! Love the concept and your composition. The 1000 macro has such wonderful Bokeh, and you used it well! - angioman

Well, thank you very much, Jim. You make me blush :)
aam1234 08-Aug-2008 00:59
Hey Neo, nice seeing you here again.
Good point you have there. Will play with it later. Cheers.
Jim B (MSP)08-Aug-2008 00:59
Very well done aam. Great composition, very good technical execution of a fine idea.
I could see this framed as a very large print - it would not look as good in a small print.
An abstract coupled with a "macro". Well done.

Great job Aam! This couldn't have been easy no matter what you used.
* Would it benefit from a tighter crop? Not really sure myself.
aam1234 08-Aug-2008 00:38
No comment for now ;)
ctfchallenge08-Aug-2008 00:27
Doh! It's not an eye dropper but a straw. :-)
~Brent
aam1234 08-Aug-2008 00:09
Cheers, Brent. It is imaging the red rose in the background (that's the whole idea), but this is not a glass eyedropper, that's too sophisticated, it's much simpler than that :)
ctfchallenge07-Aug-2008 23:53
Very nice Aam! I'm thinking that is just a glass eyedropper with a bead of water and it is imaging a red rose in the background. Do I have that right? Very creative- I like it a lot mate.
