This stands out amongst the crowd! Beautifully captured. Congrats! jano

Great shot, Konstantin. The blur in the background doesn't worry me - the focus of the image is the soles of the shoes for me, and that holds my attention.

This is a very good take on the theme. So much interest and dynamic down at the feet. Bill

Dear Penny, I am very thankful to hear ANY opinions and critical as well (may be even more - this is the only way we can learn). I fully respect your point of view (may be it would interesting for you to know that my wife is fully agree with you). So, please do not hesitate to post any critic, specially if you forestall with the words "about my photographical excellency :-).

What about me - I like it and even I can see now a lot of things I could do better - any time I tried to correct the picture - the result was always even worse. This is also true for the point you mentioned, COAmature - I know what you mean, I have seen this immediately after downloading the photo to CTF but when I tried to crop - the result was terrible. So I decided to let it as it is and do next time better.
Again - thanks a lot for your comments.
Konstantin

Great catch. As much as there is to look at here I most enjoy the feet and floor. A crop just above her ankles looks terrific. Try scolling the screen to see what I mean. -COAmature

This photo is interesting, Konstantin, and quite artsy. The crop is great. I've been looking at it for at least two days now. I've been looking for what I know makes you an excellent photographer and have come to the conclusion that I don't see it here. I love the red on the shoes and I love the floor but the rest just doesn't work for me.I hesitated before writing this but I think you wanted our opinions. Penny STreet

I knew that Konstantin is your first name, Konstantin. *grin* I call my husband "Mr. Lydia" online. :) ~Lydia

Hi folks, I'm happy that my picture provoked a long discussion which in turn demonstrated a lot of different opinions.
This is why we are in pbase, aren't we ?

I find the crop optimal to keep in balance two main subjects of the picture - the shoes with red sole and the plastic bag.
The only sharp objects on the picture are shoes and their shadow (the bag is also slightly blurred) - the blur should works the way I wanted and expected (see tv's comment).
I didn't coloured soles & bag in photoshop - later I will post the description of what I did into discussion thread.
I agree that background looks a bit artificial - this is because I had to clone out all the disturbing objects & subjects which the picture was full of.
I have to accept that some/many/all of you do not like the picture but what you see is what I got in my imagination when I accidentally saw this lady on the street.

PS. Lydia - Mrs. Mila Yagudin (Konstantin is my first name) - is in general very critical to my "creations" and this particular one is for sure not her favourite.
You - ladies - are some kind subjective from time to time ...

I want to look at the legs but you pull me to the soles of the shoes. The effect is neat even if the result of some ps blur applied. I have to like the crop but the bg seems a little artificial although well judged to echo the colors in the floor. -tv

maybe a crop with more feet and less legs? That tiled floor is quite spectacular. Penny Street

Does Mrs. Konstantin (if there is one) know you're shooting great shots like this one?? *grin*

I like it. ~lydia

I too am feeling a little cheated by the PP here. Seems to distract from a great capture - especially the unique positioning of the feet and nice shadowing on the floor. - angioman

There's a couple of things that I'm not sure about here even though I really like the look of the shot. The lady is blurred yet her shoes & bag seem in focus & it seems to have a look of the bag & shoes being coloured in PS.

Glad to help Konstantin :-) What you describe happens to me a lot; everything looks good in PS and then something shows up when I post it to the gallery and its darker background. Maybe we should both start doing quick changes to the workspace background in PS before we decide our editing is done

Brent - thank you for your comment and friendly remark. I cloned it out. Interesting is that this effect is almost invisible in PS. I had to zoom a lot to see it. That is why I have overseen it. Thanks again.

Very nice Konstantin! I like this one a lot. So is that tile she is walking on as the effect is very nice? The only thing I would change about this fine picy is a little bit of shadow and brightness is peeking into the mid to top left border which could be cloned out. Nice work!
