I see color. You need a moment to adjust to the bright white first. I like it.

Good planning and execution shown in the result but seems off topic since "color" isn't the strong part. -tv

Nice graphic and warm tones to the leaf but the background seems a bit too bright and stark to my eye. I agree with Martin regarding the shadow somewhat fighting the leaf but lovely shape and tracery to the leaf - almost spiderweb-like. CJ

Happy to clarify Mary Anne; when I say "big" in the challenge title I am referring to the size of the impression color leaves with the viewer- not necessarily the proportion of color in the image. Guess I should say something about that in the challenge thread. So anyway this one qualifies just fine I think as the nice golden tones are quite apparent and rather special.

I like the graphic quality of this shot, Lydia, but I wonder if this challenge topic calls for more area of color (hence, the "big" part). Brent, could you clarify?

The background is a piece of white typing/computer paper out in the bright sun for shadow. Not much PP done to it at all, actually.

I like the graphic stuff... to each his/her own, of course. *smile* ~Lydia

I just love the simplicity you get in your subjects and framing. To me, the shadow fights a little with the leaf - any way you can make the shadow a lighter tone? Or perhaps leave the shadow alone and dodge the tip of the shorter section of leaf at 3 o,clock?

You're making me think really hard about my comment here in my office where I usually like to put my brain on autopilot Lydia ;-) This is very pretty and all, but I tend to like less graphic like images myself. I never do these kind of shots so please explain how the white background is done, if it was a color replacement then that is one of the few things not allowed in this challenge. Again, it is a pretty image :-)
