Thanks Y:-) Yes I saw that sharpened look too mainly in the sunlit grass so I kept the sharpening lower than I normally do. It was early morning sun low in the sky whether that gives this look in B&W as in colour it has a nice warm look to it.

I like this Rod, even the thumbnail caught my eye.It seems a bit surreal, is is sharpened a bit too much? Beautiful composition and stillness. Yvonne

Nice Rod! Not sure if you have changed anything before I saw it, but this looks good to me.

I like this better, too - except it loses a little of the brush detail on the bottom left, but the positioning with less sky is definitely better for my taste.

Thanks Tommy & Brent:-) We had two cloudy days at work & blue skies to day, wot a bugger. I've tarted this as per your suggestions Brent & I have a couple of shots wiv less sky & will look at them again tomorrow. Thanks mates.

Hey, I like this a lot Rod- it looks very Ansel to me besides being very pretty. I see what Tommy is saying about the sky in a way, but if you look at a slightly similar shot I did called "Arboretum" that's now over in pending you can see how busy it looks and possibly clouds would have done the same to this image? I really like the way the low angled light hits some of the grass in the foreground. You know to be sure this comes across well on most any monitor I think I would consider a little dodging in the dark area lower left so nobody sees an all black void. There is something bright on the edge of middle left I would clone. Maybe consider a little vignetting and a little shadow burn across the top to tie the sky in just a little more with the lower parts? Or maybe not all that stuff :-) I'm thinking you had to get up early and walk a bit to get this great shot- good for you mate!

The tones of this thumbnail popped out at me and the lower two thirds are outstanding. But against such well rendered detail, I find the empty sky to be a distraction crying out for clouds or cropping. -tv
