Thanks Tommy:-)

The placement of the horizon line away from any point of stability (center or thirds line) generates a feeling of movement and uncertainty about where it "should be" in the frame. The resulting "tension" is enhanced by the bleakness of the landscape without clues of life or life support. Good tonal range. -tv

Your sky's are very welcoming in a challenge overwhelmed with clouded sky's. -COAmature

I like the gradient in the background sky and the front textures. Just goes to show "me" that you don't need a bunch of clouds for this challenge to work!! jano

This looks very nice Rod. Well suited for the zone thingy here :-)

Thanks Brent:-) I came home from Welly Point this morning thinking I had some good picys for the zone & they looked really good to me in colour. But for wotever reasons I can't seem to get a good B&W & I'm having to force the picys into a pseudo zone thingy.

This looks great Rod. You found something that will work without the Ansel clouds (I'm wanting for them badly most everywhere I look for shots). I didn't see the noise in the sky before, but it looks good now.

Geez I haven't used a noise program since my G2 so I used the blur tool to smooth the sky. I think I may have converted this in the channel mixer on 100% red & I think that's why the noise is there. I left it on this setting as it seemed to add some contrast. I really like this in colour & don't think it's a good candidate for good blacks up to whites. I will have to download a noise program to have handy when needed. Thanks again Mary Anne.

Rod, if you really want to keep the sky (As I've already said, I don't think it's necessary.), why not use a noise reduction program? The foreground is sharp enough that it shouldn't be softened too much by it, and then you would have a nice smooth gradient in the sky.

Thanks Mary Anne:-) I wasn't too happy with these B&W conversions, I was a bit rushed having to go out. I will redo them & see if I can get them any better. One of the problems I'm having is dodging & burning too much which makes the picys less natural looking. The noise in the sky is strange for only Iso 200. Back to the drawing board:-)

I like the look of the sand here, Rod. You have a good number of zones in that area. I'd consider cropping just below the horizon line, esp. because there's so much noise in the sky.
