Porcupine

I saw this little baby walking across the yard this morning but when
I tried to get a better angle, he decided to go up into the tree and he's still there!

Hi Carole, This is one of those shots that just waddle along. I think he is adorable. (Have you climbed up to get him yet?) Yvonne

This does look a little less bright to me now Carole. Maybe just a little more burning shadows would be nice or try offsetting the exposure just a tad. I guess your little friend finally left the tree?

I adjusted the midtones a bit to darken the brights a little already Jano. I was afraid to mess with it too much though. Does that help guys? :-) CJ

This is a great spontaneous capture, which are the best kind :) One thing about this particular challenge for b&w, much of the view is really dependent on the monitor's contast abilities. I know my monitor here at work is horrible and very very light in contrast, which shows totally off from my monitor at home which I feel is best. So, I'll leave my judgemnt as to light and darkness for later. (but it looks light here at work which i know is not correct for the photo) jano

Thanks guys - I'll try to redo it a bit and see if I can bring down the brights without losing detail in Porkie! :-D CJ

Carole this is great! You captured a great expression, such a cute little guy though I expect not very cuddly. It really pays to keep your eyes peeled for a chance opportunity. Take this with a grain of salt as I am presently viewing this on a laptop, but I wonder if the image is just a tad too bright? See what others say. I like this a lot Carole!
