Personification is giving human qualities to animals or objects.

Other definitions collected from various Dictionaries:

*A figure of speech in which inanimate objects or abstractions are endowed with human qualities or are represented as possessing human form

*To think of or represent (an inanimate object or abstraction) as having the personality or qualities, thoughts, or movements of a human

*Or simply put, a non human or inanimate(non-human-looking) object showing human characteristics or which evokes a human feeling.

An optional challenge criteria which is also one of the definitions of Personification
*To represent (an object or abstraction) by a human figure.
