Hi Elizabeth:

No I haven't been able to garner any more information on the plane artwork. Are you related to the family or have insight? I believe that my late uncle John Berle served on Okinawa with Hank Syverson during WWII as I get tidbits of family history from older family members. (My uncle John is my absolute hero - he designed the core life safety required stairwells in the World Trade centers - the only part of the twin towers that held up until the end permitting many occupants to escape. During this revelation from my aunt - she shared that my late uncle knew Hank.

Hello: I have a single piece of jewelry featuring a wonderful comical plane that Henry Syverson created on behalf of my late Mom and Dad for their original restaurant (The CAVU)in Wallkill, New York. My Mom sold a few pieces of jewelry featuring the smiling plane caricature in a small gift shop she had in the front entrance to the CAVU (tie tacks, woman's pendant(that's what I have), cufflinks I think, etc.) I believe he made the CAVU cartoon under contract for my Mom who started the restaurant in the 1950's. (modeled after a summer home style of architecture that we had on Cape Cod). The restaurant is still around now branded as the Nu CAVU. I'm wondering if anyone has contacts for his children - just hoping to get some insight into the artwork. My father passed June 2016 and regrettably in his last years, I was not able to get a clear idea of how the art work creation transpired. Thank you!
