Leo O'Mealia was my grandfather. His most famous cartoon was "Who's a Bum," which appeared in papers across the country after the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the New York Yankees for the first time to win the National Championship in 1955 at Ebbets field. The McEleneys would have been relatives of my Aunt Helen, who married Leo's son Leo--perhaps her parents. My grandfather was a dear and talented man. He would sit across from me with a pencil and piece and paper and draw something that I could recognize from where I sat. Then he'd turn the paper around 180 degrees and there would be some other object that I could recognize.
