we have a reasonable copy of this book. would you know of its popularity and were people interested in its purchase, if so how would we best offer it for sale and what value would be put on it?

There are a number listed on-line at bookfinder.com for between $100 and $200. (Whether they actually sell at that price or not is another issue.)
