Today, July 4, 2004, one of our neighbors seemed peaceful and content to watch all the activity during extreme low tide.
People were passing within 20 yards and firecrackers were sounding all around the neighborhood.
But "Fred" sat still and just watched with seeming curiosity as strollers passed.
It was a perfect touch to a perfect day observing our country's birthday.
