I was hoping to get a shot of a different "bird" today (hence the poor exif), but had to settle on this National Airlines Boeing 747 en route to Fairbanks, AK from JFK in NYC. At the time it was about 30 miles away and at 41,100'.

That's a pretty fabulous shot Carl...I'm on the eastern end of the transatlantic flight paths to the UK and Europe and never seem to get anything like as good a shot as this of the heavies as they roll across the sky...nicely captured!

It almost looks like a ghost plane in this great shot. I had never heard of National Airlines so looked them up. Interesting history of accidents and incidents.
