This Red-tailed Hawk is part of a resident, nesting pair that frequent the cemetery. Shortly after I got this one shot off, the hawk flew down into the creek and came out with something in its talons. Initially, we thought it might have been a baby Canada Goose, but after realizing we had not seen even one baby goose—despite many adults—we thought maybe a rat. It occurred to me that the cemetery probably oils the goose eggs to keep the population down. They can be a nuisance.
