These are some of the birds we saw today at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, NY. The cemetery offers food, water and cover for the birds—especially during spring migration. It is an oasis in the city, much like Central Park is to NYC. The flowering trees around Mirror Lake are especially attractive to migrating birds. In them they find many insects which they use to fuel up. When the weather conditions are right, they will continue their northward journey—many to their summer nesting grounds in Canadian boreal forests.
