Singing Northern Waterthrush
We took a drive to Tifft Nature Preserve this morning in search of the elusive Sora. Tifft Nature Preserve is a “just a five-minute drive from downtown Buffalo and situated on the Outer Harbor, offering 264 acres of restored habitat with five miles of trails and boardwalks.”
It seems there have been one or two Sora there that were unusually cooperative the past couple of days. Since I have only ever heard them calling, I thought it would be a good opportunity to add one to my life list. Of course, today they did not show. We did however, see many other birds and mammals including some VERY cooperative Virginia Rails. You can check out some of the others: Palm Warbler, Red-winged Blackbird, Swamp Sparrow, Virginia Rail, Blue-winged Teal, Gadwall, Canada Goose, Caspian Tern and Screech Owl on my post today on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/csquared63/
