Northern Cardinal Feather Detail

I found this feather in front of the garage. It's possible that the Cooper's Hawk that surprised the feeder birds caused the cardinal to lose it. I saw the hawk fly away without lunch!

Wow, what a superb closeup of this feather! I would have been startled enough to lose a feather, too, if I saw a hawk eyeing me, and I'm glad he flew away without lunch.
