Tiger Swallowtails - Eastern or Canadian?
Love is in the air! Actually, it was on the ground late this afternoon. I had Callie out to go and while I was watching what Kodi was doing,
Callie started pulling toward something on the grass. I figured it was something smelly, left by a raccoon or fox, but it turned out to be this pair
mating. I carefully picked them up and placed them in a nearby maple. When I went out a couple of hours later, I saw one on the ground a couple
of yards from the tree. The other was still in the tree. I moved both to one of our tulip trees, since that is a host plant for the caterpillars.
Hopefully, they will lay eggs there.
