Tiger Swallowtails - Eastern or Canadian?

Love is in the air! Actually, it was on the ground late this afternoon. I had Callie out to go and while I was watching what Kodi was doing,
Callie started pulling toward something on the grass. I figured it was something smelly, left by a raccoon or fox, but it turned out to be this pair
mating. I carefully picked them up and placed them in a nearby maple. When I went out a couple of hours later, I saw one on the ground a couple
of yards from the tree. The other was still in the tree. I moved both to one of our tulip trees, since that is a host plant for the caterpillars.
Hopefully, they will lay eggs there.

Great macros, these days butterflies need all the help they can get.

Your garden must be just right to attract these mating insects. What is in the air there! This collage of shots is simply outstanding. VVV

These are beauties, when I usually see them they are a bit ragged.
