I've been getting the itch to bowl again. I haven't bowled in a couple of years,
but it's been probably 20 years since I bowled in a league. These were the lanes
where I bowled in a league as a young teen and many times for open bowling.
Different owners now. I stopped in today to have a couple of my old bowling balls
refitted with grips. They were telling me how slow it is nowadays and how difficult
it is to make a profit. It made me sad.

Bowling is a bit of a novelty here in the UK - we have alleys and no doubt there are leagues but here in the south-west it's skittles which predominates...mainly coz all the skittle alleys are in pubs...bargain :o) !!

Interesting documentary shot and commentary. I haven't bowled since college. There is a bowling alley at SDSU near us and it's very popular with the students, though dead at semester break. Thinking I should go there soon.

funny I just arrive from bowling, playing twice a week in a league very small only 6 lanes but for a village with less than 5000 residents it's ok!

A lot of alleys are closing . It is sad. Kids don’t want to do that anymore. V
